CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS
Celebration of Lights is Dawson City’s brand new winter lights celebration! Festivities include the new City of Dawson holiday light display on the Waterfront and the Celebration of Lights Awards. Celebration of Lights will run from November 20, 2014 to January 12, 2015. Join us to celebrate this festive season!
Also occurring during the Festival is the Celebration of Lights Awards, the City’s holiday lighting and décor competition! All residents & businesses are invited to participate in the following categories:
- Most Outstanding Residential
- Most Outstanding Business
- Best Block (2 or more adjoining residences or businesses)

NOTICE OF INTENDED DESIGNATION OF A MUNICIPAL HISTORIC SITE - ARCTIC BROTHERHOOD HALL (Gerties)
Notice is herby given that Council of the City of Dawson declares its intention to designate the building known as Arctic Brotherhood Hall (Gerties) and the legal lot it stands as a Municipal Historic Site. A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 at 7:00 PM, Council Chambers, City Office for Council to consider all written and verbal submissions.

HISTORICAL PROPERTIES STEWARDSHIP REBATE:
The Historical Properties Stewardship Rebate Bylaw had third and final reading on August 26th, 2014.
~ You may be eligible for a rebate if your property has a historically significant structure(s) and your 2014 current year property taxes increased as a result of the minimum tax rate increase.
~ Properties that have a designated assessment code INS or whose property owner is a government, quasi government or religious body are not eligible for the rebate.
~ The maximum residential rebate is $250.00 and the maximum non-residential rebate is $350.00.
Application for the rebate can be made by visiting the City of Dawson Offices.
