Road Closure Schedule and Information

We do expect further road closures thus summer to allow for the safe and efficient progress of our project. We understand and apologize for the inconvenience during these essential works and thank all our residents and visitors for your patience.

We held valuable public meetings with the business community and residents in March and have finalized our traffic and parking plans based on the input received. We will provide further information on all the closures below as soon as it is available, and through all our other communications tools.

Current Closures

1.     5th Avenue between Turner and Dugas Streets

From after the Gold Show weekend (May 21) for several months while our new pumphouse is connected to the water reservoirs. This closure will extend into the west side alley between Turner and Dugas.

This closure will be for vehicles and pedestrians.

 2.     Turner Street between 5th and 7th Avenues

This is part of the same pumphouse project and we expect this to continue to the end of the summer.

Expected Closures

3.     Craig Street from 5th to the 9th Avenue Trailhead

Estimated from June 1.

This closure is for vehicles only and we expect the work to be completed in segments such that one of the 7th or 8th Avenue intersections with Craig will always be open to allow the free flow of traffic into the east side residential streets.

4.     Turner Street from Front Street to 5th Avenue

Estimated from late June, for vehicles only.

5.     3rd Avenue between King and Albert Streets

Estimated from early July.

This closure is for vehicles only and we expect the work to be completed in segments such that only one intersection will be closed at any one time.

Please note that the block from King to York may be delayed until later in the summer. 

6.    5th Avenue between Princess and Harper Streets

 Estimated from mid-August.

This closure is expected to be for vehicles only and we will minimize the closure of the Harper Street intersection to avoid increasing traffic flows on Church Street (Little Blue Daycare).

A special parking plan for Robert Service School will be published nearer the date.

Current Closures

Our only closure at this time is Turner Street between 5th and 7th. We expect this to continue until the end of the summer when our new pumphouse is commissioned.
