Dawson City is home of the Klondike Gold Rush and the heart of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory. We’re proud of our rich mining heritage and First Nation roots that run millennia deep.
We are also a thriving cultural community, with a post-secondary arts school and several world-renowned festivals. Mining, tourism, culture and our people are the foundation on which our town stands. We respect personal freedoms and diversity and live the creed introduced to the territory by the Yukon Order of Pioneers: Do unto others as you would be done by.
Of all the flattering superlatives that have described this place, we are most of proud of this: we’re a tight-knit town and a great place to make a life and raise a family.
I have no doubt you’ll find the same if you come see for yourself what makes the Klondike such an incredible place. Please feel free to get in touch if you do. I’d be happy to personally welcome you to town.
